Punjab Examination Commission started functioning in 2005 and in 2006 conducted 5th grade population examination for the first time in the Province. Now PEC is a statutory body working under Punjab Examination Commission. There are total nine education boards are working under Punjab Examination Commission include Lahore.

Elementary board examination 2015 was commenced from second week of February. Now after one and half months passed PEC has announced 8th Class Result on 31st March.
